Sr. Developer

BookingBuilder Technologies develops groundbreaking applications in the travel industry. Our products are very popular, and we have a very strong commitment to customer service. We are looking for an experienced and solid Sr. Developer to augment our development team on multiple products and several development teams. We are looking for a solid go-to person, who can act as a point person on a given project, lead the development efforts, mentor other developers, offer solutions to problems and takes pride in the highest quality possible. The technologies are mainly .Net and SQL Server. The products include both the applications we license to customers, and internal applications such as our billing system.

• Must be able to take charge of a project technically and lead other developers towards defined goals and deliverables.
• Must be able to take direction (as well as give it) and execute projects as requested.
• Must be able to work remotely with minimal supervision and deliver timely solutions as needed.
• Must be willing to work in both C# and VB.NET and under both .NET 2.0 and 4.0 for a period of time, until migration to 4.0 is complete.
• Must be able to solve individual problems but also keep an eye towards bigger picture goals, frameworks and end products.

General Job description:

• Day to day development of multiple projects and applications
• Maintain priorities based upon internal and customer needs
• Document applications and processes
• Maintain specs, bug lists, feature requests
• Ensure we are using the latest applicable technologies
• Work with and understand various third party tools, such as the WinWrap script engine (script engine with vb.net compatible syntax), JQuery UI, DevExpress web components, data compression libraries, Quickbooks interface, SQLite embedded database, and others
• Write great code!

Technologies that you will be working with:

• Microsoft .Net (both C# and VB.NET)
  • Must be well experienced in all aspects of the .NET Framework and specifically experienced in each of the following:
    • Winforms
    • WPF
    • ASMX
    • WCF
    • ASPX
    • MVC
    • Multi-threading
    • LINQ
    • NUnit (or equivalent testing framework)
  • Nice to haves:
    • Entity Framework (or equivalent ORM)
    • Unity (or equivalent IOC)
    • MEF
• Microsoft SQL Server
• SQLite Embedded DB
• Microsoft IIS
• JavaScript and HTML (including JQuery)
• Nice to haves:
  • GDS experience or knowledge
  • Travel Industry technology experience

We are a virtual company, so this is a work from home position. Your location doesn’t matter, but you will be expected to work during NY business hours.
